Undone

When did we come undone? Can’t really say.
When did your hand, slip out of mine?
When did our steps falter?
When did we stop walking in unison?
When did you stride away,
Leaving me alone along the way?

Don’t have a clue, why we’re no longer together?
When did things become, so unbearable to handle?
Why didn’t we fight harder, to be with one another?
To forgive each others innocent mistakes.

We just gave up, one bitter-sweet day.
You just said your piece and walked away.
Without giving me a chance to, change your mind.
Left me with nothing to say.

Love’s going hurts like hell, drives you mad with grief.
You forget to ever smile again, your dry eyes forever weep.
The niggling ache in the place, where your heart used to be,
rings hollow, when you tap it, nobody’s home, it seems to say.

Ever since we parted ways, life has been a blur of breathing,
eating, existing, without living. Surviving is not so important,
Feels like such a waste of time, this aimless wandering.
How can you go on , after your reason for living is,
Snatched out of your life, without a warning?

You stare vacantly, trying to remember,
How happy you once had been.
How his one look could melt your insides,
How his touch could make you surrender?
Your innermost desires would spill out,
the moment he was near you.
How you almost died with ecatasy,
When he whispered in your ear,
“I Love You.”

Where has love gone? It feels like that isnt it? Empty, numb, purposeless? You brought these feelings out beautifully in this poem, Sulekha.

There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.
There is so much of reality in your words..beautiful Sulekha...
