My journal of Smiles :) ...Lucks

My journal of Smiles  …by Lucks

Friends, this is my treasure chest, where I keep my riches. What are these valued possessions? My smiles!!!

Things and people that make me smile everyday are my most prized gems.

Date: 31-10-2011

What made me happy to be alive today?

1. My dear friend and Outlier,Rimly Bezbaruah, had emailed a beautiful comment on my latest article. It read, “Your article made me smile early in the morning.” This sentence made my day. Thank you sweetheart.

2. Another sweet soul, Corinne Rodrigues, tagged me in a touching prayer on YouTube; she sent her blessings for my upcoming biopsy. Her action made me so happy to be alive and in the midst of such caring and dear friends.

3. A lovely old lady complimented me at the grocery store, when I asked the shopkeeper for skimmed milk, this lady said, “Excuse me, you don’t need to lose weight.” Bless her kind heart.

What are your lovely moments? Share with me and spread the cheer…

Have a great day.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” ~Robert Brault

My Crowning Glory...I Love You

With the launch of the new Dove Nourishing Oil Care Range, Dove and IndiBlogger present the “Love your Hair and it loves you back” blogger contest. Today's busy city life leaves us with very little time to take care of ourselves, especially our hair. What small and special things do you do to your hair to nourish it and make you feel happier and more beautiful?

"Love is a two way street: Love your hair and it loves you back!"

This is my entry for the contest.

My crowning glory…I love you

You have been with me through thick and thin.
Have been my shield, protecting me,
from the harsh realities of life.
You’re the reason, I lift my head high,
and give it a regal toss, to make a point.
You’ve been my priceless ornament.
My agony, my ecstasy, my deep sigh.

You were there, when I saw him for the first time,
You hid my blushes from his adoring eyes.
I had twirled a lock and brushed my lips,
when I had wanted to kiss him instead.

You were the first thing he noticed.
He wanted to run his fingers through you.
When we became better acquainted,
he wanted to bury his face in you.

He loved you as much as I did,
even more so, cause you made me shine,
with beauty and grace,
and he was proud to be seen with me,
and I was thrilled that he was mine.

I am sorry, if I’ve ever hurt you,
with my silly perm and straightenings.
My crazy delusions of being a redhead,
of my numerous bleachings.
I was young and foolish and,
didn’t know any better.

Now I am a wise young lady,
hide my most precious possession.
Protect it from the heat and dust,
by wrapping a scarf around it.
My trusted umbrella is my mobile roof,
above my head, keeping it cool.
Keeping the rain and Sun off it,
I am no longer the reckless, silly fool.

I love you, my crowning glory,
And will never do anything to hurt you.
You are the reason, he is mine
And I am eternally grateful to you.
For my fairy tale, love story.

I will wash and condition you,
Cover you with a soothing mask.
And on days that I am unable to,
do that, I will use the serum instead.

Every night when I comb my hair,
I say a silent prayer for us.
I brush out all the sadness from your life
and you fill my life with happiness.

Our love will stand the test of time,
together, we shall win the race.
You will have your soft silky texture,
and me my sweetheart’s embrace.

Roxy and Emilio....Part three

Roxy and Emilio…..Part Three

Seasons change, like emotions.
old friends move to new places,
physical distance is not an issue.
It’s the distances of the heart,
that causes an ache in the souls.

One fine day, Emilio moved away,
without a woof goodbye.
He just upped and left,
Uncaring of Roxy’s heartbroken sighs.
Roxy waited at the park, every day,
She didn’t lose hope, never thought,
Emilio would just walk away.

Her wait was endless and long,
her soul’s notes were devoid,
of a true love’s song.
She kept a lonely and sad vigil,
Unbelieving that Emilio would,
Ever do her, this wrong.

One day she grew up, dusted her knees,
and stood up tall.
She buried her love for Emilio,
So deep inside her soul,
That even she couldn’t find it ,
If she ever tried.
It was hidden in the farthest corner,
of her heart, in a bleeding black hole.

Gradually, she began to breathe,
without hurting,
she learnt to smile, through her tears.
Sent a silent prayer up in the air,
asked God for forgiveness, for him.

She didn’t hold a grudge,
How could she?
She loved him, didn’t she?
She believed in miracles,
So what if she was suffering now,
the best was yet to be.

Two years later, one evening at the park,
while she was playing with, Trixie and pixie,
Emilio chanced upon her, unexpectedly.
He saw her with the puppies and his heart sank.

He had just come back, weary from his travels,
Had been around the block many times,
and realized Roxy’s true worth.
He had been thinking of proposing,
to her and declaring his love,
Instead he found her with her,
two adorable puppies, oh God!

What a fool, he’d been.
not appreciating Roxy’s unconditional love.
He had himself to blame,
for missing out on this chance.

She had done nothing, but love him,
and he had pushed her away.
Ridiculed her feelings, made fun of her,
Not given her the time of the day.

Now she was lost to him,
He was too late, life had passed him by.
Roxy could have been his, had he been,
Upfront about his feelings,
Had he told her he loved her too,
He was so sad now, he wanted to die.

Suddenly he heard Lassie, calling out,
“ Roxy, thanks for puppysitting my twins,
You are a lifesaver, my friend.”
Emilio couldn’t believe his ears,
He gave a woof of pure, unadulterated joy.

Thank you god, for giving me a second chance,
Roxy is not hitched, she can still be mine,
provided she forgives me,
I have been such a heel.
I promise to love and cherish her,
Please let me know how she feels.

Do I stand even a slim chance?
Have I burned my boats?
Can I be redeemed?
Will I have the last dance?

Archer woman's Friday Moment

{This Moment} - )7th October 2011
A single photo – no words – capturing a moment. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
