The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...Reboundlovers Blog-Tour

Friends, The Reboundlovers Blog-Tour topic is , The good, the bad and the Ugly.

In the famous movie with the same name, "A bounty hunting scam joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery."

My take on this theme is totally different. I am a romantic and think with my heart, so for me everything boils down to LOVE. Now what can be bad and ugly about love? I have asked myself this question a million times and have come to the conclusion that love is good but we make it bad and ugly with our thoughts and actions.

The kind of love depicted in the movie, "Love story", is the best kind of love, good love. Oliver and Jenny love each other so much that they both try to protect each other from hurt and pain. I still remember this line from the movie,

"Love means never having to say you're sorry."

Now bad love is bad, I mean you fall in love with a person and that person becomes your whole life, that's fine. But when this love starts interfering with your life and your day-to-day activities,it turns sour. It's not good but not so bad also, that it warrants intervention, yet. You obsess about him, make him your end-all and be-all, become overly jealous of him, start following him, spy on him, check his messages, his pockets...this makes the love go bad.

Ugly love is the worst kind, it kills love and what remains in the relationship is , a whole lot of anger, frustration and hatred. One movie which comes to mind is, "Sleeping with the Enemy". There was no love there, only ugliness and helplessness. Julia Roberts (Laura) plays the traumatized wife to Patrick Bergin (Martin). Martin is abusive, possessive, obsessive and controlling, none of the qualities of love here. These emotions make love go from good to Ugly.

Writing to me is…..like

breathing, feeling pangs of happiness and sorrow, meeting friends, embracing a dear one, kissing a lover…writing is all this and so much more to me. It unshackles me from this humdrum living and raises my soul higher, so that I can see the beauty of the world from up there. Writing liberates my mind and enriches my very being; it gives me a reason to stay alive, to create, to be content. It defines me, it’s my identity. Writing is my life.

Writing is my religion and god rolled into one sacred awesome package. I live, breathe, eat, sleep and dream writing. I need my reading glasses, my pen and my writing pad with me at all times. In fact these are the only cosmetics you’ll find in my handbag. Eccentric to the core, I am a scribbler, passionate about the papers that I scribble on.

It is an escape from the demons inside my head, a relief from the fears of the unknown. It’s the comfort of a mother’s hug and being rocked in her arms. Writing is a gift at times and a curse at other times. It is therapeutic to me and cleanses my soul, it’s like going to a confessional…healing, rejuvenating, like putting a band-aid on a fresh wound.

Writing is strong arms holding me close and keeping me safe from all evil, my haven. It’s fulfilment of a last wish, a sentimental odyssey into the depths of my deepest desires.

I love writing, in case you all haven’t figured it out as yet….keep writing and keep smiling, my dear writer friends.

Thank you for reading my post, please share your thoughts about it with me.

My Post

The book that inspires me most:

I love books, all kinds, shapes, size and reading is my passion. Different books appeal to me at different stages of my life and one book stands out as my ultimate favorite because of a very special reason. The book is titled, "Who will cry when you Die?" This wonderful book holds a special place in my heart as this was the last gift my father sent to me before he passed away, and it has valuable treasures of wisdom to enrich people's lives.

Who will cry when you die? By Robin Sharma

The tragedy of life is not death, but what we let die inside of us while we live. –Norman Cousins.

This book has enriched my life and made me stronger to deal with anything and everything coming my way. It teaches us that we are responsible for our happiness and we can change our lives and steer them in any way we want to go.

In this book the author advises the readers to find their calling and adds that finding your calling, simply means you need to bring more of yourself into your work and focus on the things you do best. It means you have to stop waiting for other people to make the changes you desire and, as Mahatma Gandhi noted: “Be the change that you wish to see most in your world.”

I am learning so much about life and am a changed person after following the advice given in the book. Robin Sharma says, ‘Take More Risks’. He says on the other side of fear lies freedom. “To live your life to the fullest, start taking more risks and doing the things you fear.”

I was never a risk taker but now for the past 17 months, I have done nothing else but this. I have conquered my fears of the unknown, failure, rejection and defeat, and am charging ahead in life, confident that I will succeed and even if I don’t sometimes, I will have tried to succeed. I will learn from my mistakes and try again and again and finally succeed.

I have started taking the initiative and am confident that everything will work out for me and nothing can hurt or harm me anymore, I am unstoppable. I have cleared the mental clutter and it’s unable to drain my precious energy.

I no longer think negative thoughts and am happy to be alive, life is for the living, and I am living it to the fullest. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and living an adventurous life. I have started a new project with a few friends and am learning something new about it every day. I have never had so much fun learning and working hard towards a cherished goal. I have promised myself that I will excel in my chosen field and hence am working hard towards achieving that goal.

I have learnt to forgive and forget, can sleep much better at night and am at peace with the world. I have also developed a whole lot of patience with unsolved mysteries of the heart. I am taking it one day at a time and am confident that all will be well in the end.

This book has taught me a lot, I have learnt to smile through my struggling tears, laugh in the face of adversity and stand tall when confronted with life’s innumerable stresses and problems. You become a better person in the process of reaching your destination, so I have started enjoying the journey to the destination and am sure that one day I will achieve my goals.

“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.”
